A routine tyre change quickly turned into a frightening experience for two men on the Beetham Highway. The incident, which took place in the early hours of April 6, 2026, saw the driver and passenger of a silver Nissan B-14 robbed during their unexpected stop. Their vehicle had suffered a flat tyre, forcing them to pull over. As they were attempting to rectify the issue, they were approached by two individuals who then carried out the robbery.
The driver was relieved of his wallet, which contained cash, bank cards, and his identification documents. In addition, his cellphone was also taken. The passenger did not escape the ordeal unscathed either; he was robbed of a sum of cash. The assailants then made their getaway on foot, heading in the direction of Beetham Gardens.
The incident has left the victims shaken but unharmed. Local authorities have since been alerted and police investigations into the matter are ongoing. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the potential risks that can emerge, even during the most routine of tasks.
