Jasveen Sangha, who has earned notoriety as the ‘Ketamine Queen’, has been handed a 15-year prison sentence. She was convicted for her role in supplying the drug that precipitated the tragic demise of celebrated actor Matthew Perry. Prosecutors revealed that Sangha had been operating a significant drug distribution network from her residence in North Hollywood, catering to affluent and high-profile clients.
The shocking tragedy unfolded on October 28, 2023, when Perry was discovered unresponsive in the hot tub of his Pacific Palisades home. Subsequent forensic examination attributed his death to the acute effects of ketamine, with drowning recorded as an ancillary cause.
Sangha was indicted in 2024, alongside four others implicated in the case. She later entered a guilty plea to a series of federal offences, including provision of the lethal dose. The remaining accused parties have also reached plea agreements.
The case has shone a spotlight on the perils of illicit drug distribution, particularly within elite social circles, triggering widespread public attention and concern.
