PARAMARIBO — Judge Suzanne Chu has dismissed the claims filed by Wendy Jap-A-Joe against the Supervisory Board of the Telecommunications Authority of Suriname (TAS). Jap-A-Joe had initiated legal action alleging that the board had publicly defamed her. In her ruling, Judge Chu stated that it had not been sufficiently demonstrated that the Supervisory Board acted unlawfully toward Jap-A-Joe. Consequently, the court rejected all claims brought forward by the plaintiff. As part of the judgment, Jap-A-Joe has been ordered to pay the legal costs incurred by the Supervisory Board during the proceedings.
