Police Operations in San Fernando and Princes Town Lead to Six Arrests, Firearm Recovery

A firearm was recovered, and six individuals were detained after coordinated police operations in San Fernando and Princes Town on Thursday, 23rd July 2026. The operations, led by the South Western Division’s Gang and Intelligence Unit alongside the Home Invasion Team, focused on illegal firearms and larceny cases.

Around 5:00 p.m., intelligence indicated the presence of illegal firearms in a vehicle near Skinner Park, San Fernando. Officers attempted to intercept the vehicle, leading to a chase. One suspect escaped on foot along Donaldson Street, while the vehicle was eventually stopped on the San Fernando Bypass. A revolver was found inside, and three individuals were arrested and taken to the San Fernando Police Station. Searches are ongoing for the escaped suspect.

Earlier in the day, between 4:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m., a separate operation in Princes Town led to the arrest of three individuals in connection with a larceny investigation. This operation was led by Senior Superintendent Hospedales and targeted suspects linked to recent robberies. The arrests were made after officers intercepted a grey Mazda Alexa on Manahambre Road.

Further inquiries led officers to a residence on Railway Reserve Road, where stolen vehicle parts were recovered. The items were positively identified by a businessman from Contention Branch Road, whose property had been targeted. Investigations into both the firearm and larceny cases are ongoing, with law enforcement committed to ensuring public safety and justice.
