Police Recover Firearm, Arrest Six in San Fernando and Princes Town Operations

In a series of coordinated operations in San Fernando and Princes Town, police successfully recovered a firearm and detained six individuals. These operations, conducted by the South Western Division Gang and Intelligence Unit, alongside the Home Invasion Team and Southern Division Task Force, were intelligence-led and targeted illegal firearms and theft activities.

On Thursday evening, July 23, 2026, officers acted on intelligence indicating the presence of illegal firearms in a vehicle near Skinner Park, San Fernando. Upon attempting to intercept the vehicle, one suspect fled on foot along Donaldson Street. The remaining suspects were apprehended after a chase that concluded on the San Fernando Bypass. A revolver was found in the vehicle, and three individuals were taken into custody at the San Fernando Police Station. Efforts to locate the suspect who escaped continue.

Earlier that day, a separate operation took place in Princes Town between 4 a.m. and 8 a.m., leading to the arrest of three individuals connected to larceny and robbery in the Southern Division. The operation was prompted by a report from a 50-year-old businessman whose vehicle parts were stolen. Officers intercepted a suspect vehicle on Manahambre Road and subsequently recovered the stolen parts at a residence on Railway Reserve Road. Additional items believed to be unlawfully obtained were also found and identified by the complainant.

These operations were orchestrated by Senior Police Officers, including ACP Smith and Senior Superintendent Hospedales, and involved extensive collaboration between multiple police units. Investigations into both incidents are still ongoing, as authorities work to bring all involved parties to justice.
