Police Officer Wounded in Late-Night La Romaine Shooting, Suspect Detained

In a tragic incident late Friday night, a police officer was shot in La Romaine, putting a community on edge. The officer, PC Koon Koon, was reportedly wounded on La Fortune Pluck Road, a location more commonly known as ‘the turning point.’ The event took place shortly before the stroke of midnight on April 3, 2026.

Koon sustained a gunshot wound to his abdomen during the incident. He was promptly rushed to the San Fernando General Hospital where he is currently receiving medical treatment. The hospital is yet to disclose any information regarding his current condition.

Authorities have since managed to detain one suspect in relation to the shooting. However, the particulars of the circumstances leading up to the shooting are still unclear. As the situation continues to unfold, more information is expected to be released.
