Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar wrapped up her official visit to the United States with a stop at the Consulate General of Trinidad and Tobago in Miami. The visit was an opportunity for the Prime Minister to acknowledge the consulate staff for their dedication to the nation’s diplomatic mission. This visit followed the Shield of the Americas Summit that took place on March 7. Persad-Bissessar commended the work of the consulate staff in assisting nationals, diplomatic outreach, and community building. The visit also allowed the consulate staff to engage in direct dialogue with the Prime Minister, where they discussed the mission’s evolving role in promoting Trinidad and Tobago’s interests globally. The Prime Minister stressed that the consulate’s work is critical to the country’s broader foreign policy objectives and the support of its citizens overseas.
