Kamla Persad-Bissessar, following several days of official engagements in the United States, made a visit to the Consulate General of Trinidad and Tobago in Miami. Her visit followed her involvement in the Shield of the Americas Summit that took place on March 7. During her time in Miami, she interacted with the consulate staff, expressing gratitude for their efforts in supporting the Trinidad and Tobago nationals living abroad. Persad-Bissessar lauded the team’s efforts in preserving solid diplomatic ties and community connections across South Florida, and for their assistance to the Trinidad and Tobago diaspora. The meeting also allowed the staff to shed light on the consulate’s role in advocating for the country’s interests and fortifying international partnerships.
