PLN Rayu Produsen China, Jepang, Jerman untuk Hadirkan Bus Hidrogen di Indonesia

This report covers pln rayu produsen china, with key details and context.

PLN (Persero) is actively courting vehicle manufacturers from Japan, China, and Germany to bring hydrogen-powered buses to Indonesia, signaling a major step toward green public transport. PLN CEO Darmawan Prasodjo confirmed that the hydrogen ecosystem—including supply and refueling stations—is already in place, but the missing piece is the fleet itself.

“The hydrogen refueling stations are ready, the hydrogen is available. It’s the hydrogen buses that are not yet on the road,” Darmawan stated at the Global Hydrogen Ecosystem Summit & Exhibition 2026 in Jakarta on Tuesday (21/7/2026).

Darmawan revealed that discussions have been held with Toyota, which has developed the Toyota Zora hydrogen bus, as well as manufacturers from Germany and China that also have operational-ready hydrogen buses. He suggested that Transjakarta, Jakarta’s bus rapid transit system, could be the pioneer for hydrogen mobility.

“Perhaps the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources could lobby the Governor of Jakarta to use these buses for Transjakarta,” Darmawan added.

He emphasized that hydrogen buses are more environmentally friendly than electric vehicles because they produce no battery waste. The push is now on the government to facilitate early adoption through public transportation fleets.
