A 39-year-old man from Penal has been granted bail for the charges of possession of a firearm and ammunition. Cornelius Ali appeared before a Master of the High Court and was granted bail worth TT$80,000, with his case to be heard on February 2nd, 2026 at the Siparia Magistrates’ First Court. Ali was arrested by South Western Division officers on January 3rd, 2026. Meanwhile, a coordinated operation in the Point Fortin district led to the arrest of three more suspects, including two men wanted for State of Emergency investigations and a third for ammunition possession. Additionally, a 20-year-old male from California was arrested by officers in the Southern Division on charges of rape, grievous sexual assault, larceny, and kidnapping. Investigations into these cases are ongoing.
