One man was detained and three guns were recovered during State of Emergency operations carried out overnight in the Northern and North Eastern Divisions.
Police reported that officers from the Inter-Agency Task Force conducted an exercise between 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 27, 2025, and 5 a.m. on Friday, November 28, 2025. During the operation, a Nissan Sentra was searched in the Grand Bazaar area, where officers discovered two black firearms and eight rounds of ammunition. The 31-year-old driver, a resident of Petit Valley, was arrested. This operation was supervised by ACP Collis Hazel, Snr. Supt. Ramnarine, Supt. Ramsook, and ASP Singh.
In a separate exercise in Maloney, carried out between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Thursday, officers searched a car park along Jacana Avenue and found another firearm, which was loaded with a magazine containing two rounds of ammunition.
The Maloney operation included Sgt (Ag.) Forgenie, W/Cpl (Ag.) Simon, PCs Carter, Fisher, Gopaul, Villaroel, Willet, Yallery, and WPCs Sween and Diamond, under the leadership of Supt. Mc Kenzie.
