Nurse Wage Negotiations Must Conclude by Early 2026, Demands TTRNA

Idi Stuart, President of the Trinidad and Tobago Registered Nurses Association (TTRNA), has called for a conclusion to wage negotiations for nurses by early 2026, a timeline he describes as non-negotiable. The association is even willing to meet over the holiday period to expedite the process. Stuart has urged the Government to provide clear instructions to the Regional Health Authorities’ CEOs to ensure smooth communication and swift resolution of wage discussions. He warns that unresolved issues could lead to serious disruption in healthcare services, particularly given the existing staffing shortages. The association’s priorities for 2026 include resolving wage issues, addressing staff shortages, and tackling infrastructure challenges.
