Devastating Flash Flood in Nepal Claims 98 Lives, Hundreds Missing

A devastating flash flood struck northern Nepal on August 26, 2026, originating near the Rasuwa district close to the Nepal-Tibet border. The disaster has claimed at least 95 lives in Nepal and three in Tibet, with hundreds more reported missing. The floodwaters, which began in the high Himalayan region, traveled downstream, causing widespread destruction.
