Newspaper Retracts Controversial Police Operation Story

The Trinidad Express Newspaper has retracted an online version of its lead story, “WEED BUST AT BOND,” due to reasons yet to be clarified. The story detailed an alleged police operation at the Customs Bond in El Socorro on November 19, 2025. It was reported that three police officers were disarmed and taken to the Police Administration Building, a claim that sparked public interest following its publication. The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) has remained silent on the incident, despite the presence of two Assistant Commissioners of Police at the site. This silence, coupled with the lack of official clarification, has led to public speculation on the veracity of the story and the reasons behind its withdrawal. The absence of a formal response from TTPS has only heightened public curiosity and concern about the incident.
