The National Directorate of Firefighters in Uruguay has announced a recruitment drive for 150 seasonal firefighting positions for the 2026-2027 summer season. The roles are designated for operational service across various locations throughout the country.
The contracts will span four months, beginning December 1, 2026, and concluding March 31, 2027. The positions involve high-risk interventions and require candidates to possess physical strength, agility, and endurance. The monthly nominal salary is set at 67,728 Uruguayan pesos, subject to potential future adjustments.
Applicants must be natural citizens or legal citizens with at least five years of citizenship. The age requirement is between 18 and 35 years old as of the close of the registration period. Required documentation includes a valid identity card, civic credential, proof of voting, and a certificate of good conduct. Candidates must also provide a medical certificate of physical fitness, proof of a current tetanus vaccination, a health card issued by an authorized provider, a digital CV, and a sworn statement.
Two mandatory requirements for all applicants are the completion of primary education and possession of a valid category A driver’s license, which must remain valid until at least April 1, 2027.
Registration for the positions will be conducted through the Uruguay Concursa portal and the Ministry of the Interior website. The application window opens on September 25, 2026, and closes on October 11, 2026.
