The government of Durazno and the Club Union Juvenil signed a letter of intent on Friday, September 18, granting the sports organization the use of property number 2710, formerly known as the Defensor Club field.
The agreement aims to develop the site for football training and matches for both local and interdepartmental tournaments. The document was signed by Durazno Mayor Dr. Felipe Algorta and Secretary General Dr. Ana Laura Gadea Castro on behalf of the government, and by Club Union Juvenil President Nestor Rojas Figueira and Secretary Nicolas Sosa. The process was facilitated by notary Mauricio Rodriguez Alonso.
Under the terms of the agreement, Club Union Juvenil is required to provide the field at no cost for two official matches or practice sessions per week as scheduled by the Durazno League. This provision applies to children’s football, local representative teams, and women’s football during both day and night hours. The club is permitted to charge a fee during night hours to cover electricity costs.
The letter of intent is valid for two years. The next phase of the project will involve the formal signing of a loan-for-use agreement, which will occur once the municipal government completes the expropriation and possession process for the property.
