The Partido Colorado has announced a commemorative event to mark the 190th anniversary of the founding of the political party. The gathering is scheduled for Saturday, September 19, in Carpintería, located in the department of Durazno, Uruguay.
Participants are requested to meet between 9:30 and 10:00 a.m. at the Casa de Rivera in the city of Durazno before traveling to the Carpintería site. The day’s itinerary includes an open session featuring the National Executive Committee and the Durazno Departmental Executive Committee.
The program also features historical presentations by Luis Hierro López and Professor Andrés Rodríguez, as well as folklore performances. The official ceremony will include the inauguration of a monument and observation deck, known as the Mirador Monumento, at the site.
Organizers have encouraged attendees to bring party-related items such as flags, red berets, and scarves. Participation on horseback is also permitted. According to the party, the event is intended to honor the history of the organization and reaffirm its commitment to future generations.
