Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar has championed the new Home Invasion law, underscoring its focus on the safety and rights of law-abiding citizens. The law sends a clear message that home invasions will not be tolerated. During a recent event at Penal Secondary School, where she distributed 168 laptops to new Form One students, the Prime Minister announced that further related bills, including fresh firearm legislation, will be introduced before the year’s end. The Prime Minister expressed optimism about the support these bills have already received in the House and hopes the Senate will follow suit. She highlighted that the Home Invasion law is a strong piece of legislation, necessary because home invasions have become far too prevalent.
