Nevzat Doğansoy, known professionally as Nev, died at the age of 57 from liver failure. The Turkish singer, who was best known for songs such as “Zor,” “Mühürlü Kaderim,” and “Sen Gibi,” had been working on a new album of sea-themed songs before his death. In an interview given in May, Nev said he was preparing a project that would focus on maritime themes. He explained that music was his greatest motivation, adding, “My biggest motivation is to produce new songs, write the lyrics, compose and record them.” He also revealed that he had composed music for Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu’s poem “Çakıl” as part of the album’s material. The album, which was intended to continue Nev’s tradition of incorporating sea imagery into his music, remained unfinished after his passing. His death was reported by Turkish media outlets, and his legacy continues to be celebrated by fans of Turkish folk and maritime music.
