NDP Leader Bojang Urges Opposition Unity, Slams Government on Healthcare and Agriculture Failures

NDP leader Bojang has called on opposition parties to unite behind a single candidate to challenge the ruling National People’s Party (NPP) in the upcoming elections. Speaking at a rally, he urged colleagues to put aside rivalry and accept the chosen flagbearer, warning that division only strengthens the ruling party. Bojang also criticized the government’s handling of healthcare and agriculture, citing the decline of the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital and reduced groundnut production as evidence of mismanagement. He called for reforms prioritizing citizens’ rights, transparency, and effective leadership. Linking rising crime rates to youth unemployment, Bojang promised to create jobs and provide skills training to reduce desperation among young Gambians. He further urged President Adama Barrow to step aside if unable to govern effectively, insisting accountability must be central to leadership.
