Montano Declared 2026 Road March Winner, Breaks Record

Machel Montano has been officially declared the 2026 Road March winner with his song ‘Encore’. The announcement came on Wednesday following the final tabulation. This victory takes Montano’s total Road March titles to 12, making him the artist with the most Road March wins in history. The previous record was held by Lord Kitchener, and Montano’s first win dates back 29 years ago. This recent win solidifies Montano’s legacy in Trinidad and Tobago’s Carnival. The winning song ‘Encore’ dominated the Carnival Monday and Tuesday road play, with a noticeable presence across major bands and trucks, and heavy rotation across Port of Spain judging points. Montano’s Road March wins include titles from 2026 to 1997, highlighting his enduring influence on modern soca and Carnival culture. This major milestone has etched Montano’s name in Trinidad and Tobago music history as the most successful Road March artist ever.
