A festive Monster Truck exhibition in Popayán, Colombia, morphed into a horrifying scene as the gigantic vehicle lost control and crashed into spectators. The devastating incident has resulted in at least three fatalities, including a minor, and left more than thirty people injured, some critically.
The accident instigated widespread panic, with families who had been enjoying the show suddenly finding themselves amidst chaos. The injured, many of whom are children, were swiftly transported to local hospitals, with several in critical condition.
Beyond the human trauma, the mishap also wreaked havoc on the surroundings. Material damage, uprooted trees, and disruptions to the electrical service were observed, prompting authorities to seal off the area.
As the dust settles, questions are being raised about the safety measures in place at the event. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine whether the tragic incident could have been prevented.
