Missing Government Elephant Madigaj Safely Captured After a Month in Chitwan

In a successful wildlife operation, the Chitwan National Park technical team has recaptured the government elephant ‘Madigaj’, which had been missing for nearly a month. The elephant suddenly disappeared from the Gideni Post area, prompting a extensive search. On Monday, the team located Madigaj in the Lamichaur region and used a tranquilizer dart to subdue and safely secure the animal. Park Information Officer Avinash Thapa Magar confirmed that the elephant is now under control and no injuries were reported during the operation. The recapture ensures the safety of both the elephant and local communities.
