In a shocking home invasion in Moruga, a family was terrorized by masked intruders in the early hours of Monday morning. The incident, which took place around 3 a.m. in Fifth Company, St Mary’s, involved three armed men who entered the family’s residence while they were asleep.
The victims, a couple aged 65 and 64, along with their daughter, 37, were quickly overpowered. Reports indicate that the father, a carpenter, suffered severe injuries after being beaten by the assailants. To immobilize the family, the intruders bound them with tie straps and duct tape.
During the chaotic ransacking of the home, the thieves stole a variety of electronics, including a television and a PS5 console, as well as cameras and a cellphone. They also took two LPG gas tanks and a wallet containing $1,800 in cash, along with the father’s identification and bank cards.
After loading the stolen goods into the family’s Toyota Aqua car, the suspects fled the scene. Local police are currently investigating the robbery and have urged anyone with information to come forward as they work to apprehend the perpetrators.
