Luxembourg City’s 25th Museum Night shattered attendance records on Saturday, drawing over 29,000 visitors to seven participating museums for an evening of art, music, and special events. Organisers confirmed a total of 29,282 visits, surpassing previous highs and solidifying the event as a cornerstone of the city’s cultural calendar.
The participating venues—Villa Vauban, Casino Luxembourg, Luxembourg City Museum, National Museum of History and Art, National Museum of Natural History, Musée Dräi Eechelen, and Mudam—remained open until 1am, offering extended exhibition hours alongside a packed programme of performances, concerts, DJ sets, creative workshops, and guided tours. Visitors received a special wristband and booklet, encouraging them to explore multiple museums throughout the night.
The event attracted a diverse audience, from seasoned museum-goers to first-time visitors eager to experience Luxembourg’s cultural scene in a vibrant, late-night atmosphere. The lively mood was reported across all venues, with organisers praising the public’s enthusiasm for the city’s artistic and historical offerings.
Museum Night has evolved since its debut in 1999, growing from a modest initiative into one of Europe’s most anticipated cultural events. This year’s success reflects both the enduring appeal of Luxembourg’s museums and the city’s commitment to fostering accessibility in the arts. With plans already underway for next year’s edition, the event continues to redefine how residents and tourists engage with culture in the Grand Duchy.
