Lebanon-Cyprus Ferry Faces Another 10-Day Delay as Cedar Waves Docks in Larnaca

The long-awaited ferry service linking Lebanon and Cyprus has suffered yet another setback, with a 10-day delay announced for the Cedar Waves vessel. The ferry, operated by the Abou Merhi Group, departed from Jounieh, Lebanon, but is now docked at the port of Larnaca instead of continuing its return journey.

A government source confirmed the postponement but did not provide specific reasons for the delay. This is not the first time the service has been pushed back; previous delays have frustrated passengers and businesses hoping for a reliable link between the two countries.

The ferry, named Cedar Waves, was expected to boost tourism and trade, but repeated postponements are raising concerns about the viability of the service. Passengers awaiting the return trip are now left in limbo as the vessel remains berthed in Larnaca.

Authorities have not announced a new departure date, but the government source indicated that updates would be provided once the situation is resolved. The delay is a blow to those who had hoped for a steady connection between Cyprus and Lebanon.
