Laventille Man Drowns at Tyrico Bay

A 62-year-old man from Laventille tragically lost his life in a drowning incident at Tyrico Bay on March 8, 2026. The victim, identified as Anthony Daniel, was swept under by a wave while bathing off the north coast. Daniel had arrived at the beach earlier in the day and was seen entering the water about half an hour later. Bystanders brought him back to shore and immediately started CPR. Lifeguards and Emergency Health Services personnel continued resuscitation attempts, but unfortunately, Daniel could not be revived. The Maracas Bay Police Station officers are currently investigating the incident.
