The French government has opened applications for a new €100 fuel assistance for “big rollers” – workers who use their vehicles for professional purposes – on Tuesday, 27 October 2026. The scheme, which will run through December 2026, has been extended and its income ceiling raised. According to Bercy, the assistance is equivalent to 40 cents per litre for an average three‑month consumption. Once the online form on the tax portal is completed and validated, the payment will be made within ten days, the tax administration said. The income threshold for eligibility has been increased to a reference income of €22 770 per part for the 2024 tax year, up from €18 000. As a result, the number of potential beneficiaries rises from 3 million to 5.5 million. For example, a single person earning up to €2 050 per month (previously €1 508) may qualify, provided all other conditions are met. Eligibility criteria The applicant must be a “grand rouleur”, meaning the vehicle is used for professional purposes. The driver must travel at least 15 km daily to work (30 km round‑trip) or cover at least 8 000 km in the year, including home‑to‑work journeys. The applicant must be a French tax resident, at least 16 years old on 31 December 2024, and have declared wages, salaries, industrial and commercial profits, non‑commercial or agricultural profits in 2024. The applicant must not have been liable for the real‑estate wealth tax. The vehicle must be a two‑, three‑ or four‑wheel motorised vehicle with a thermal or non‑rechargeable hybrid engine, and must be insured at the time of application. Electric vehicles and rechargeable hybrids are excluded, as are company cars whose fuel is paid by the employer. * Ownership is not required; long‑term leases and vehicles belonging to relatives are eligible. However, the assistance can be granted only once per vehicle. Those who already received the assistance for the period from April to September 2026 will receive a new €100 payment automatically, the tax services confirmed. The payment has been available since 16 October. The extension comes amid continued high gasoline prices, with the government hoping the extra support will ease the burden on professional drivers.
