“Këpucë e veshmbathje”, zbulohen mallra të padeklaruara në vlerë rreth 72 mijë euro në Vërmicë

Kosovo Customs officials at the Vërmica border crossing have intercepted a shipment of undeclared goods valued at approximately 72,600 euros. The discovery was made during a routine customs clearance procedure when an officer identified a discrepancy between the weight declared in the documentation and the actual weight of the truck. Following the suspicion, officials conducted a detailed inspection of the vehicle and its cargo. The search revealed 1,036 pairs of shoes and 2,980 pieces of clothing that had not been included in the customs declaration. According to the official report, nearly all of the seized items featured protected trademarks. The estimated value of the undeclared goods, excluding import duties, is approximately 72,600 euros. Kosovo Customs has initiated administrative proceedings regarding the incident and has notified the relevant authorities for further legal action in accordance with existing legislation. In a statement, Kosovo Customs emphasized that under the Customs and Excise Code No. 08/L-247, all goods must be declared accurately. The agency warned that failure to declare goods or providing inaccurate information constitutes a violation of customs law, which may result in the imposition of import duties and other legal penalties. The agency reiterated its commitment to combating smuggling and ensuring fair market competition through ongoing border controls.
