Jökull tekinn við Breiðabliki

Jökull Elísabetarson has been appointed as the new head coach of the Breiðablik men’s football team. The club announced the appointment on November 6, 2026. Jökull, 42, most recently served as the head coach of Stjarnan, a position he held for over three years before his departure in June 2026. He originally joined Stjarnan as an assistant coach and took over the head coaching role following the dismissal of Ágúst Gylfason. The appointment marks a return to Kópavogur for Jökull, who has a history with Breiðablik. As a player, he was a midfielder for the club for four years and was part of the squad that secured Breiðablik’s first Icelandic championship title in 2010. Additionally, he has experience with the club’s affiliate team, Augnablik, both as a player and a coach.
