India has summoned Russia’s Charge d’Affaires in New Delhi to protest a missile strike on a cargo vessel that killed four Indian nationals off the coast of Ukraine. The attack on the MV Golden Leo, a grain carrier sailing from Odesa, occurred on July 19, 2026. The Indian Foreign Ministry said the targeting of commercial ships was unacceptable and threatened international maritime security.
