Homeowner Discovers Break-In, Valuables Missing in Maraval

A homeowner in Maraval woke up to an unpleasant surprise on Sunday morning: his home on La Seiva Avenue had been broken into. The man had secured his home and retired to bed around 1:30 a.m. on January 4, 2026, but when he woke up at around 7:00 a.m., he noticed a pried-open glass window on the western side of the house. A quick search of the house revealed that his common-law wife’s purse was missing. It contained TT$500 in cash and bank cards from Scotiabank and Capital One. A bottle of honey worth TT$150, previously left on the front porch, was also missing. Investigations into the break-in are currently underway.
