Just hours after news broke that popular Guyanese dancehall and soca artiste Lil Saint had died, an emotional video he recorded before his passing was released, fulfilling a request he made to his wife.

According to reports, Lil Saint, whose real name was Emmanuel James, died following complications from major surgery after battling serious health issues for several years.

In the lengthy and deeply personal recording, the artiste revealed he had spent the past four years suffering from severe abdominal pain and frequent vomiting, which he said doctors eventually traced to a mass on his pancreas. He explained that he had postponed the major surgery twice because he was afraid but ultimately decided to go through with the operation.

Speaking directly to his supporters, Lil Saint praised his wife for standing beside him through his darkest moments, saying she never gave up on him when he had lost faith in himself. He alleged that he was denied support during some of the most difficult periods of his life, including while he was hospitalized. Guyana’s Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport has since paid tribute to Lil Saint, describing him as a gifted young entertainer whose passion and creativity left a lasting impression on the country’s music industry.
