Guyana: Port Mourant Youth Dies in Car Crash

A 16-year-old boy tragically lost his life in a car accident that occurred along the Maida Public Road, Corentyne Berbice on Tuesday afternoon. The deceased has been identified as Porshatam Hoolasia from Port Mourant. Sheriff News Network understands that the accident took place around 16:00 hours when two vehicles—motorcar PLL 4312 and motorcar PAL 9292—collided under circumstances that remain unclear. At the time of the collision, Hoolasia was traveling in motorcar PLL 4312 alongside another individual, while only one person was in the other vehicle, motorcar PAL 9292. The impact of the crash left the occupants of both cars with various injuries. Public-spirited citizens quickly rushed to help, extricating the injured individuals from the wreckage and transporting them to the hospital for urgent medical attention. Sadly, despite the efforts to save him, Hoolasia succumbed to his injuries at the scene. He was transported to the Port Mourant Public Hospital where he was officially pronounced dead.
