During a series of weekend operations under an ongoing State of Emergency (SOE) in several divisions, five suspects were arrested and a firearm, ammunition, and drugs were seized. The operations were conducted in the Central, North Central, and Port of Spain Divisions. A search at a bar in the Chaguanas district led to the discovery of a Smith and Wesson pistol loaded with ammunition. The weapon was found in the possession of a 44-year-old man. In the North Central Division, officers discovered a magazine containing 10 rounds of 5.56 ammunition at two homes, leading to the arrest of four male suspects aged 16 to 23. Meanwhile, in the Laventille district, officers found 13 packages containing approximately seven kilogrammes of cannabis. The investigations into the matters are ongoing.
