A man from Central Trinidad, who had been reported missing, is suspected to have been brutally murdered. His body was found bound and gagged on a North Coast beach. Identified as 44-year-old Homadath Sookdeo of Todds Road, the body was discovered early Sunday morning, March 8, at Tyrico Beach. The police, suspecting strangulation as the possible cause of death, have launched a homicide investigation. Sookdeo was last seen the day before his body was found, and his family reported him missing shortly thereafter. His white Toyota Hilux pickup is still missing. The deceased’s relatives are expected to formally identify the body at the Forensic Sciences Centre, although investigators believe that the physical description matches that of Sookdeo.
