First Citizens CEO Resigns Amid Ongoing Leadership Changes

First Citizens Group is preparing for another change at the top after Group Chief Executive Officer Jason Julien announced that he will step down from his position effective August 31, 2026.

In a statement, Julien said his resignation was a personal career decision after accepting an opportunity with a Nasdaq-listed company in the United States outside the financial services sector. He emphasized that his departure was voluntary and not linked to any internal issues within the bank.

The announcement comes just months after the resignation of Group Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Operations and Administration, Neela Moonilal-Kissoon, who left the organisation in March after 25 years of service. The back-to-back departures have drawn public attention as First Citizens navigates a period of transition within its senior leadership team.

Despite the recent executive changes, First Citizens has not indicated that the resignations are connected or that they reflect broader concerns within the organisation. The bank has continued its normal operations and is expected to outline its succession plans in due course.

As one of Trinidad and Tobago’s largest financial institutions, leadership changes at First Citizens are closely watched by customers, investors and the wider business community. Attention will now turn to who will be selected to lead the banking group into its next chapter.
