England Beat India by 27 Runs, Clinch ODI Series 2-1 at Lord’s

England defeated India by 27 runs in the third and final ODI at Lord’s on Sunday, winning the three-match series 2-1. Batting first, England posted a record 387/3, the highest ODI total at the historic venue. Ben Duckett led the charge with 141 off 112 balls, while Jacob Bethell contributed 91. Joe Root remained unbeaten on 74 and captain Jos Buttler smashed 41 off just 13 deliveries.

In reply, Rohit Sharma silenced his critics with a brilliant 138 off 110 balls, his 34th ODI century. He and Shubman Gill added 147 for the first wicket. Virat Kohli scored 74, and India reached 304/2, seemingly in control. However, Sam Curran’s four-wicket haul sparked a collapse as India lost three wickets for 12 runs. Jofra Archer also dismissed KL Rahul.

India finished on 360/7, falling short by 27 runs. Rohit’s 138 is now the highest individual score by an Indian against England in England. The loss means India will have to regroup ahead of their next international assignment.
