Authorities in Guyana have seized two water dredges and a quantity of gold following an enforcement operation against illegal mining activities along the Puruni River. The Ministry of Natural Resources reported that the operation took place on September 17, 2026.
The enforcement action was conducted by the Enforcement Department of the Guyana Geology and Mines Commission (GGMC). The commission received support from other agencies during the dismantling of the illegal mining site.
