*Dharmshala, August 27, 2026* – The Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) confirmed that a flash flood which struck the Nepal‑Tibet border on Wednesday caused at least one death among the Tibetan community residing in Rasuwa District, Nepal, and left many residents unaccounted for.

Penpa Tsering, President of the CTA, said the sudden deluge “has caused widespread destruction” and that Tibetan settlements on both sides of the border are facing “severe losses.” He did not provide a specific death toll, but noted that several Tibetan media outlets have reported fatalities among the displaced population.
