According to a recent report released by the Argentine news outlet El Debate, a significant portion of the country’s population has resorted to borrowing to meet everyday expenses.
The study found that 60.2% of respondents had taken on debt within the last six months. Of those who borrowed, 6 out of every 10 Argentine households reported taking on new loans.
Analysis of the debt usage indicates that 76% of borrowers used the funds to pay for essential items and services, including food, health care, utility tariffs, and other basic services.
These findings highlight the growing income crisis affecting Argentine households, as the cost of basic goods and services continues to outpace many families’ earnings.
The report underscores the increasing reliance on credit to sustain daily living, reflecting a broader trend of financial strain across the nation.
