Haitian author Thélyson Orélien has been awarded the 2026 Fnac Novel Prize for his latest work, C’était ça ou mourir. The announcement was made on Monday, September 21, marking the 25th anniversary of the literary award.
Published by Grasset on August 19, the novel was selected from a shortlist of five finalists. Orélien, who has resided in Quebec since 2010, has seen his work gain significant recognition during the French literary season, earning multiple distinctions and nominations for several major autumn literary prizes.
