Ciprian Ciucu, la interviurile DC News: Bucureștiul, fondurile și criza politică din România

Ciprian Ciucu, the general mayor of the capital, is scheduled to appear on DC News on Monday, 14 September 2026 for a live interview with political analyst Bogdan Chirieac. The segment will focus on the challenges facing Bucharest and the prolonged political crisis in Romania.

During the discussion, Ciucu is expected to address several key topics, including the impact of the absence of a stable national government on the capital’s administration, the simultaneous construction of multiple projects in the city, the completion timeline for Herăstrău Park, and the mayor’s major development plans for the capital. He will also explain the sources of funding for these initiatives, whether they come from the municipal budget, European Union funds, or private investors, and outline the strategies the General Mayor’s Office uses to attract private capital. The interview will also cover the mayor’s perspective on resolving the political crisis in Bucharest and the city’s preparations for the severe winter forecasted by the National Meteorological Administration due to the El Nino phenomenon.

Ciucu has held the position of general mayor since December 2025. He was born on 16 March 1978 in Pitești and has previously served as mayor of Sector 6, winning the 2024 election with more than 73 % of the vote. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science (1996‑2000) and a master’s degree in Public Policy and European Integration (2000‑2001) from the National School of Political and Administrative Studies. His career has included roles as a public policy expert, project manager, and consultant for the European Commission, the World Bank, GIZ, and various ministries in Romania and Moldova. He has also taught project management at the University of Bucharest and authored several studies on public policy and European integration.

The interview will be broadcast live on DC News TV, DC News’s Facebook
