Chourio se apodera del récord histórico de jonrones de Cerveceros en postemporada

William Contreras, the Venezuelan catcher for the Milwaukee Brewers, praised teammate Jackson Chourio after Game 2 of the National League Championship Series (NLCS). “Chourio va a seguir rompiendo récords,” Contreras said, noting that Chourio had tied him for the most postseason home runs in Brewers history with five. Chourio quickly answered the praise in Game 3, played at Dodger Stadium. In the first inning he hit his sixth postseason homer, a 391‑foot blast off a 106.1‑mph fastball from Dodgers pitcher Blake Snell. The homer moved Chourio into sole possession of the Brewers’ postseason home‑run lead. The hit also tied Chourio with Shohei Ohtani, Derek Jeter, Jimmy Rollins, and Kyle Schwarber for second place in all‑time postseason home‑run leaders, with only Schwarber’s five home runs ahead. With the new total, Chourio now has 18 career postseason home runs, surpassing Andruw Jones as the player with the most postseason home runs among those under 23 years old. The Brewers are two victories away from their first World Series appearance since 1982. In the current postseason, teams that score first have a 19‑10 record, while teams that hit more home runs than their opponent have an 18‑4 record.
