High housing prices, weak purchasing power and inadequate infrastructure continue to challenge the real‑estate market in Ho Chi Minh City, according to a report from Vietnam.vn. The outlet noted that while the supply of new units is slowly recovering as projects complete their statutory approval processes, consumer purchasing power has not improved and property prices remain elevated. Savills’ research and consulting director for Ho Chi Minh City, Cao Thi Thanh Huong, said the market needs a strong enough stimulus to restart growth. She added that recent progress in resolving unfinished projects in the city has brought clearer development, but further measures are required to support a sustainable rebound.
