A gruesome homicide case has unfolded in Couva where a charred body was found on an agricultural plot in Mc Bean on Tuesday. The discovery was made by a man and his companion who were visiting the property with a real estate agent. The victim was found with his hands tied behind him, his body set ablaze. The scene, a parched field bordered by mango trees and sugarcane stalks, was promptly secured by Couva police officers. Forensic investigators are processing the scene, focusing on a fire-scarred area where the remains were discovered. Three 9mm shell casings were found at the site. The remains will undergo a post-mortem examination at the Forensic Science Centre in Federation Park to establish the cause of death. The police are still working to identify the victim and the motive behind the crime. The public is urged to provide any information that could aid the ongoing investigation.
