Carnival 2026 Vendors Report Major Losses

Several booth vendors at Queen’s Park Savannah have reported significant financial losses following Carnival 2026, attributing the decrease in profits to the popularity of the Flava Village initiative. Vendors had to pay a $1,500 booth fee to operate at the Savannah but claim that their sales were insufficient to cover worker wages. Many of them claim they were not included in Flava Village despite being association members. They believe that more entertainment, lighting, or attractions could have drawn patrons to their area. Vendors are now requesting a full refund of the booth fee, and also seek to have talks and be included in the planning for Carnival 2027. Culture Minister Michelle Benjamin and Flava Village organisers have been requested for a meeting by the vendors.
