Cambodia Accuses Thailand of Deliberately Stalling Border Demarcation Talks

The Cambodian government has formally accused Thailand of deliberately delaying negotiations on land border demarcation. In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs alleged that Bangkok is intentionally linking the land border issue to maritime boundary disputes under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS). Cambodia argued that both processes have separate legal foundations and distinct mechanisms, and should not be tied together. The accusation marks a significant diplomatic rift between the two neighbors, threatening progress on finalizing the land border after years of talks. Observers say the move could heighten tensions and complicate bilateral relations.
