The field for this year’s Calypso Monarch competition has been narrowed down to 11 finalists, who will compete in the highly anticipated Dimanche Gras event at the Grand Stand, Queen’s Park Savannah, Port of Spain to dethrone the reigning Monarch, Helon Francis. The lineup includes notable names such as Terri Lyons, Karene Asche, Tazyah O’Connor, among others. The Trinbago Unified Calypsonians’ Organisation (TUCO) extended their congratulations to the finalists and expressed gratitude to the patrons of Calypso Fiesta. TUCO vice-president addressed public commentary regarding some artists not making the cut, reminding the public that not everyone can win.
