BNI has confirmed that the legal process concerning alleged irregularities in the distribution of People’s Business Credit (KUR) in Jember, East Java, stems from a report filed by the bank itself with law enforcement. Corporate Secretary Okki Rushartomo stated that the report was submitted in 2024 after BNI’s internal detection of potential irregularities in the credit application and disbursement process.”This case originated from BNI’s report to law enforcement after the company found indications of irregularities in the credit application and disbursement process. BNI respects the ongoing legal process and is cooperative in the investigation,” Okki said in a written statement on Friday, July 17, 2026.Okki emphasized that BNI has conducted internal audits and taken action against parties proven to have violated company regulations. He reiterated the bank’s zero-tolerance policy towards any form of fraud and misconduct.BNI, as one of the state banks channeling the government’s KUR program, remains committed to maintaining the integrity of credit distribution so that financing benefits reach eligible businesses in need of capital support.
